Adam Silver attends Spurs game, and it inspires internet gold

NBA commissioner Adam Silver attended the Spurs’ matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder alongside his wife.

San Antonio Spurs fans can usually spot a handful of famous faces in the crowd amid the NBA Western Conference finals, but Friday night’s Game 3 crowd may have delivered its most unintentionally artistic courtside cameos yet.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver attended the Spurs’ matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder alongside his wife, prompting one basketball fan to compare their courtside look to the famously stern couple in Grant Wood’s iconic “American Gothic” painting.

Meanwhile, ultra-wealthy NBA “basketball junkie” James Goldstein sat courtside, decked out in a printed Casablanca motor jacket. This is far from the first time Goldstein has stood out in a crowd.

In an April 25 X post, the @ArtButMakeItSports account referenced a photo of Goldstein appearing to ominously stare at LeBron James — comparing the image to Bohimul Kubista’s “Kiss of Death.”

Sometimes art really does imitate life, especially when it comes to patent celebs like Silver and Goldstein.
